Fine tuning: The bread and butter for piano technicians, I can provide prompt, friendly, high level professional piano tuning on all pianos. Last minute, weekend and evening tunings are welcomed at no extra charge.
Regulation: Being a graduate of Yamaha's California based school in piano regulation, I can bring your piano's touch and control back to like-new performance.
Voicing: Consistent and pleasing tone qualities are important and are accomplished by working with your piano hammers using chemicals, sanding, needling and replacement if needed.
Repairs: From a sticking key to major component replacement, I have the ability and experience to take care of whatever ails your piano. This includes repairs to benches, music holders, etc. Estimates are often possible over the telephone or by email.
Keytop replacement: A specialty at Kurta Piano Service is the replacement of missing, cracked, broken and discolored keys. I have a well equipped key shop and provide this service for both piano owners and technicians.

Lectures and technical meetings: Having had many years of experience in speaking to groups, I can furnish piano related talks and demonstrations to any size meeting.
A Word about "RPT."
The letters RPT stand for "Registered Piano Technician." This is a designation given by the Piano Technicians Guild, an international professional organization of piano technicians with local chapters throughout the world. The RPT earns this honor by taking and passing a series of three rigorous hands-on examinations involving tuning and repairing pianos. It is considered the worldwide standard of proficiency in servicing acoustic pianos. Most universities and colleges require this certification for employment. To gain this level of skill, one must have years of training, experience and the ability to work within precise limits of time and high quality performance.
